Homes by Rowan & Rose was born from a simple belief: that every home deserves to be beautiful, functional, and deeply personal.
I'm Sophie, an interior designer and property developer - and if I'm honest, design has been in my blood for as long as I can remember. At eleven years old, my dad handed me the reins to redecorate my own bedroom and I didn't look back. From that moment on, he involved me in every décor decision our family made - and looking back, that's exactly where the seed was sown.
My journey into property began in 2011, when my husband and I bought our first home together - a dilapidated Victorian terrace, that we lived in through a complete renovation, floors up. With Darren's expertise in the trade handling the graft, I was in my element making every fixture, fitting, and design decision. We've never really stopped since -
together we've bought, transformed, and flipped many houses, living through the process each time. That means I understand the reality of renovation from the inside: the decisions, the overwhelm, the excitement, and the satisfaction of seeing it all come together.
That hands-on experience, means I bring both instinct and expertise to every project. I'm also deeply passionate ab
out the natural world - from texture and materials to plants and organic forms - and that love finds its way into everything I design. Home doesn't feel like home without a connection to nature, and I bring that philosophy into every space I work on. (I also share my own home with a Maine Coon cat, two chickens, and two ponies - so I take the idea of a lived-in, loved home very seriously!)
That real world experience means I don't just understand what looks good - I understand how spaces work, what people need, and how to deliver style without compromise.
The name Rowan & Rose comes from the middle names of my two children. A little reminder that everything I do is rooted in what matters most: home, family, and creating spaces worth coming back to.
